Introduction to US Tourist Visa

3. Application Process

• Form DS-160: Applicants are required to complete and submit Form DS-160 online, providing detailed information about their background, purpose of visit, and other pertinent details.
• Visa Fee Payment: Payment of the non-refundable visa application fee is necessary before scheduling an interview.
• Interview Scheduling: Once the DS-160 form is submitted and the visa fee is paid, applicants need to schedule an interview at the US embassy or consulate in their home country.

4. Required Documents

• Valid Passport: Applicants must possess a passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond the intended period of stay.
• Photograph: Recent passport-sized photograph meeting the specified requirements.
• Form DS-160 Confirmation Page: Printout of the confirmation page containing the unique barcode generated upon completing Form DS-160.
• Proof of Finances: Bank statements, income tax returns, or other documents demonstrating the applicant’s financial ability to cover expenses.
• Travel Itinerary: Details of planned travel including flight reservations, accommodation bookings, and planned activities in the US.

5. Visa Interview

• Purpose: The visa interview is conducted to assess the applicant’s eligibility and intention for the US tourist visa.
• Questions: The consular officer may ask questions regarding the purpose of the visit, ties to the home country, financial capability, and other relevant matters.
• Documentation Review: The officer may review the applicant’s documents during the interview to verify the information provided.

6. Approval and Issuance

• Approval: If the consular officer determines that the applicant meets all the eligibility criteria and has a genuine intention to visit the US temporarily, the visa may be approved.
